ORDER

Challenging the rejection slip issued by the 4th respondent to the petitioner in selection test of physical fitness of the petitioner for selection to the post of constable in the Central Armed Police Forces and other forces, the present writ petition has been filed.

It is the case of the petitioner that in response to the notification issued by the Staff Selection Commission on 05.09.2024 inviting applications for the post of Constable in Central Armed Police Forces and SSF, Rifleman in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau, the petitioner applied for the same.

3. The petitioner have participated in physical fitness test along with other aspiring candidates. The task was to complete 5000 mts within 24 minutes. According to the petitioner, 0.04 seconds behind the cut-off time. Therefore, he was given a rejection slip by the 4th respondent. According to the petitioner, the the ground was muddy and slippery owing to rain and therefore, many candidates could not complete the running properly within the stipulated time. Therefore, the petitioner seeks an opportunity to be given afresh to test his

physical capacity. The petitioner has also drawn an attention of this Court to the order passed by this Court in a batch of similar matters wherein this Court had directed conduct of fresh.

4. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

5. This Court, vide its order dated 28.10.2025, allowed the batch of writ petitions filed by similarly placed candidates and passed a slew of directions. This Court have clear opined that only those candidates who were issued rejection slips and who had challenged the same before this Court are permitted for fresh PST/PET. The said order was passed on 28.10.2025. The petitioner was not at the doors of this Court at that time and only during fag end of January 2026. The petitioner cannot a feign ignorance of the fact that he was not aware of filing of writ petitions by similarly placed candidates. This Court cannot extend such leniency to latecomers. The petitioner ought to have been vigilant and approach this Court in time. This Court is not inclined to entertain the writ petition and issue any direction.

6. In the result. The writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. 28-01-2026 rli
