Respondent(s) PRAYER The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents to disburse the belated payment of interest amount of Provident Fund, Gratuity and Commutation amounts and other unsettled benefits of Surrender Leave Salary for the year of 2009-2011, 12(3) wage settlement arrears amounts and 10 days Salary amounts with effect from 01.06.2018 within the stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed, to direct the respondents to pay interest @ 6% for the belated payment of Provident Fund, Gratuity and Commutation amounts and other unsettled benefits of Surrender Leave Salary for the year of 2009-2011, 12(3) wage settlement arrears amounts and 10 days Salary amounts with effect from 01.06.2018 to the petitioner.

It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner, who had joined the service of the respondent Corporation, had retired from service on 31.05.2018, however, the terminal benefits have been settled only on 24.09.2025. Therefore, the petitioner claimed 6% interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits and other unsettled benefits and he has also made a representation on 25.11.2025 to pay interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits andother unsettled benefits which has not been evoked any response so far. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

4. In view of the limited request made by the petitioner with regard to interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits and other unsettled benefits,

this Court directs the respondents to pay interest @ 6% for the belated payment of terminal benefits and other unsettled benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of terminal benefits of the petitioners, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order taking into account the bank rate of interest on deposits.

5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
