Shankar ..Respondent(s) Prayer: This writ petition (Crl.) has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd respondents to give adequate police protection for the petitioner and his family member's life and property bearing Patta Nos.823 and 777 in dry land in Survey No.4/1B2 to an extent of 0.84 cents, Survey Number 4/1B4 to an extent of 0.07 1⁄2 cents and also Survey Number 50/4A2 to an extent of 0.22 cents at Virpattu Village, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District based on petitioner's representation dated 05.08.2025 and considering the same within stipulated time.

ORDER

This writ petition (Crl.) has been filed seeking to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.08.2025 and to consequently, give adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that based on the representation given by the petitioner, current paper enquiry was conducted in C.No.H5/13209/666/HOC/2025. However, the same has now been closed, as the dispute between the parties was found to be civil in nature.

3. Recording the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2, this writ petition (Crl.) is closed with a direction to the respondents police to serve the closure report on the petitioner. However, it is open to the petitioner to challenge the closure report in the manner known to law, if so advised. No costs. 12-01-2026 rap
