ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to pay interest for the belated payment of PF, Gratuity, Earned Leave salary and Surrender Leave salary to the petitioners with interest at the rate of 15 percent per annum within a specified time as fixed by this Court.
2. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself.
3. It is the case of the petitioners that they joined the service of the respondent Corporation on 13.02.1992, 04.01.1997 & 08.09.1990 and retired on 31.05.2024 and 30.06.2024 respectively. However, the terminal benefits have been settled only on 02.12.2025 and also the other benefits such as PF, Gratuity, earned leave salary and surrender leave salary were paid to them belatedly after 542 days without any interest. Therefore, the petitioners made a representation on 08.12.2025 claiming 15% interest for the belated payment of PF, Gratuity, Earned Leave salary and Surrender Leave salary, which evoked no response so far.
