This application has been filed to condone the delay of 697 days in filing the written statement of Applicant/ Defendant in the above suit.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the applicant. The learned counsel for the respondent raised serious objection in allowing this application.

3. Considering the reasons stated in the affidavit filed in support of this application, this application is allowed as prayed for subject to the condition that the applicant pay a sum of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) as costs to the Adyar Cancer Institute within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. Post the main suit on 21.04.2026 under the caption for "framing issues".
