ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to dispose of the petitioner's application dated 03.11.2025 seeking to modify the entries made in the UDR patta due to the alleged mistake having crept in the said UDR patta by providing an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner in terms of Section 10 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983.

2.Since the aforesaid application seeking for modifying the entries in the UDR patta, submitted by the petitioner has not been considered till date, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

3.Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 5. Since no adverse order is being passed against the sixth respondent, notice to the sixth respondent is dispensed with.

4.No prejudice would be caused to the official respondents if the petitioner's application, as stated supra, is considered, on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the objections of the neighbouring land owners as well as the sixth respondent and any other third party whom the second respondent deems it fit to enquire, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5.This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's application.

6.For the foregoing reasons, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's application dated 03.11.2025 seeking for modification of the entries made in the UDR patta for the property, morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition, due to the alleged mistake that is said to have crept in in the said UDR patta, after hearing the objections of the neighbouring land owners if any as well as the sixth respondent and any other third party whom the second respondent deems it fit to enquire, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
