For Petitioner(s):
Mr.Gowwtham Thelak V.B Mr.Sharath Chandran For Respondents:
Mr.P.Balathandayutham Special Government Pleader
ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.11.2025 and to pass orders directing the respondents to include the name of the petitioner in the panel of the year 2023 for the post of Senior Revenue Inspector in Chennai District Revenue Unit.
2. Mr.P.Balathandayutham, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner was appointed as Village Administrative Officer in Gudalur at Nilgiris in the year 2012 and later, on 03.09.2021, she was promoted to the post of Senior Revenue Inspector in Revenue Divisional Officer, Gudalur. Upon the petitioner's request for transfer to Chennai, an order dated 06.05.2023 was passed by the second respondent,
transferring her to Chennai. However, the second respondent issued the relieving order only on 03.06.2025. Consequently, the petitioner joined the service as Senior Revenue Inspector at the Sholinganalllur Taluk Office, Chennai, on 16.06.2025. Pursuant thereto, the petitioner's name included in the promotional panel for the year 2025. The grievance of the petitioner is that despite the transfer order having been issued on 06.05.2023, the relieving order was passed after an inordinate delay of two years. As a result, the petitioner's name was not included in the approved probationer/ promotional panel for the year 2023. Therefore, she made a representation dated 27.11.2025 before the respondents, seeking inclusion of her name in the promotional panel for the year 2023. However, the same has not been considered till date. Therefore, the petitioner has preferred the present Writ Petition.
4. Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.11.2025 and pass appropriate orders on the same within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.
5. On the above contention, this Court heard the learned counsel appearing for the respondent.
6. In view of the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.11.2025 on merits and pass appropriate orders on the same in accordance with law within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties.
7. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
