ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to disburse the amount of Rs.4,80,379 /- together with interest if any, deposited by petitioner's husband Late. Sivaperuman lying in 1). S/B. Acc. 0562100003156- Rs.60,092, 2) R/D. Acc. 0563200005870- Rs.72,998/- 3) F/D. Acc. 0564600026429- Rs.1,09,071/- 4) F/.D. Acc. 056460027672 -Rs.1,19,109/- and 5).F/D. Acc.0564600027673- Rs.1,19,109/- based on petitioners representation dated 24.11.2025 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the legally wedded wife of late Sivaperuman, and no issues were born out of the wedlock. The petitioner's husband retired from service as a Deputy Collector on 24.03.2004 and died on 30.10.2025 due to natural causes. During his lifetime, the said Sivaperuman had maintained a savings account, a recurring deposit account and a fixed deposit account with the second respondent, in which a total sum of Rs.4,80,379/- has been deposited. The petitioner was nominated as the nominee in respect of the said accounts. As the
amounts have not been disbursed, the petitioner made a representation to the second respondent on 24.11.2025. However, the same has not been considered till date. Hence the present writ petition has been filed. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the second respondent would submit that an enquiry would be conducted on the basis of the representation submitted by the petitioner, and that the amount would be disbursed to the petitioner, if she is found otherwise eligible.
4.In view of the above submission, this Court directs the second respondent to conduct an enquiry on the basis of the representation submitted by the petitioner and to disburse the amount to the petitioner, if she is found otherwise eligible, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
