(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) This writ petition has been instituted to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.12.2025 for granting 15 days leave to the petitioner's brother namely Imran, son of Iqbal, aged about 28 years, Convict Prisoner, who is now confined at Central Prison, Vellore.
2. The petitioner has submitted an application on 06.12.2025 seeking 15 days leave for his brother for taking treatment for his mental illness. It is needless to state that the application submitted before the authorities must be disposed of within a time line contemplated under the Tamil Nadu Suspension of Sentence Rules, 1982. That being the factum, the respondents are directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 06.12.2025 as per the Rules.
3. It is made clear that in the event of time line contemplated under the Rules lapsed, the authorities are directed to dispose of the representation/application of the petitioner within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
