O R D E R

This Contempt Petition is filed by complaining that the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.19105 of 2017 dated 08.11.2017 is violated.

2. The grievance of the petitioner in this Contempt Petition is that the respondent police are frequently visiting the Club under the guise of inspection without there being any materials to do so.

3. On the other hand, a counter affidavit filed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police states that those visits are made only after receiving phone calls stating that the petitioner Association is running gambling with money.

4. Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents further submitted that the visit made by the Police was in pursuant to the information received and not with any intention to periodically disturb the petitioner's activities.

5. When this court has already passed an order by granting liberty to the police to take action in the event of any illegal activities being carried on in the petitioner Association premises, the visits made in

pursuant to the calls, cannot be termed as violating the order passed by this Court. However, the respondents shall ensure that those calls are with certain authenticity so as to compel them to investigate.

6. With the above observation, the Contempt Petition is closed.
