Respondent Petition under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 praying to punish the respondents for willful disobedience of the order dated 13.02.2018 made in W.P.No.3140 of 2018.

ORDER

When the matter is taken up, Mrs.P.Rajalakshmi, learned Additional Government Pleader, by producing a copy of the letter dated 22.11.2018 addressed to the Government Pleader of High Court, Chennai, submitted that a proposal has already been sent for amendment to Rule 3(a)(i) and Annexure-I of the Special Rules for Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Services Rules, 1955, for maintaining a common seniority for police personnel serving in General line and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ Special line, such as Motor Transport Wing, Armoury Wing,

Band Men, Armed Reserve in Districts/Cities. The said proposal is under examination by the Government in consultation with the advisory Departments. The said letter further says that the final decision will be taken by the Government and the said Rule shall be amended after taking a final decision by the Government.

2. Recording the above said letter dated 22.11.2018 of the respondent, this Court hereby grants two months time from the date of receipt of a copy of this order to take a final decision on the representation made by the petitioner in accordance with law. Accordingly, the contempt petition is closed. No Costs.
