PRAYER: This Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to pass suitable orders on the petition dated 05.05.2014 seeking patta for the property in Punja Survey No.99/2C of Melnelli Village, Arcot Taluk, Vellore District to an extent of Acre 0.83 cents in a time bound period and for other reliefs.

Heard, Ms.S.Bhuvana, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Shanmugasundar, the learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 & 2.

2. By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The petitioner has come up with this writ petition seeking a direction to the second respondent to consider his https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

representations dated 05.05.2014 & 23.11.2016 requesting to issue a separate Patta measuring to an extent of 0.83 cents in Punja Survey No.99/2C of Melnelli Village, Arcot Taluk, Vellore District.

4. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner has submitted representations dated 05.05.2014 & 23.11.2016 claiming the relief as prayed for in this Writ Petition, but, the same are yet to be disposed of by the second respondent. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

5. Since, the learned Special Government Pleader states that the matter relates to issuance of UDR Patta, and the competent authority is only a Revenue Divisional Officer/the second respondent herein, and as it is seen that the petitioner's representations are pending consideration from the years 2014 and 2016 respectively, the petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the Revenue Divisional Officer/ second respondent within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the second respondent is directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a further period of four weeks thereafter, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, as well as any of the interested parties. 6.With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
