Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to take action in accordance with law against the 5th respondent in respect of the representation / complaint, dated 28.04.2018 submitted by the petitioner. ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 to take action in accordance with law against the 5th respondent in respect of the representation / complaint dated 28.4.2018 submitted by the petitioner.

2. The short facts leading to filing this writ petition is as follows :- It is stated that the petitioner is the devotee of Arulmigu Muthu Mariamman Temple, Panchamadevi. It is further stated that the 5th respondent has misappropriated huge funds from the public under the guise of conducting Kumbabeshkam. Thus, the petitioner made a complaint before the 1st respondent in respect of the alleged misappropriation. In response to that complaint, the 1st respondent 2/5

issued directions to the Joint Commissioner to take appropriate action on the complaint made by the petitioner. But it is the grievance of the petitioner that subsequent to such direction, the authority concerned neither passed any orders nor taken further steps. Hence this writ petition.

3. Heard learned counsel on either side and perused the entire papers.

4. Learned counsel for the 4th respondent submitted that pursuant to the complaint made by the petitioner, FIR in Crime No. 913 of 2018 was registered for the offences of 419, 420, 406 and 424 of IPC. Hence, steps have been initiated for the complaint against the 5th respondent. In view of the above, the writ petition may be closed.

5. As the prayer sought for in this writ petition has been achieved, nothing survives for further adjudication. Recording the submission made by the learned counsel for the 4th respondent, this writ petition is closed. No costs.
