2. The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondent to consider their representations and issue a community certificate to them as well as to their children.

3. The petitioners are brothers. According to the petitioners, they belong to Kurumans, a scheduled tribe community, which is listed under S.No.18 of the Tamil Nadu Scheduled Tribes List. Further, their father's brothers namely one Mr.Harimoorthy and one Mr.Govindan were holding such a community certificate and its genuineness was confirmed by the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

State Level Scrutiny Committee vide proceedings dated 28.3.2014. Based on that, the petitioners applied to the respondent on 06.6.2018 for the issuance of a community certificate. The grievance of the petitioners is that though their representations are pending for the past three months, no action has been taken till date.

4. In view of the limited scope of the prayer sought for, we are of the opinion that the respondent can be directed to consider the petitioners' representations.

5. Accordingly, considering the facts and circumstances of the case and without expressing any opinion on merits, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioners' representations dated 06.6.2018 on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
