..Respondent Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to namely, the Tahsildar, Mylapore-Triplicane Taluk, Greenways Road, Chennai 600 028, to consider the petition of the petitioner dated 24.08.2018 and furnish the copy of the order, if any passed, in the application submitted by online through e-sevai center, Corporation Office, Mylapore on 25.07.2018 vide No.2018/0204/02/062800, CAN No.0330208125377 and if no order has been passed, therein to direct the respondent to pass orders in the said application on merits after giving opportunity to the petitioner within a time stipulated by this Court.

(Order of the Court was made by R.SUBBIAH, J.,) The petitioner came forward to file the present writ petition seeking for a mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the petition of the petitioner dated 24.08.2018 and furnish the copy of the order, if any passed, in the application submitted by online through e-sevai center, Corporation Office, Mylapore on 25.07.2018 and if no order has been passed, to direct the respondent to pass orders in the said application on merits after giving opportunity to the petitioner within the time frame to be fixed by this Court. When the matter is taken up today for consideration, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
respondent would submit that the application submitted by the petitioner, was rejected by the respondent on 26.07.2018 on the ground that upon local enquiry and verification of the documents, it is seen that the petitioner is presently following the Christian Religion and under such circumstances, the petitioner is not eligible to get Scheduled Caste [SC] Certificate.
The learned Additional Government Pleader also produced a copy of the letter of the respondent dated 05.10.2018 before this Court to that effect and a copy of the same was also served on the learned counsel for the petitioner.
Since already an order has been passed rejecting the petitioner's application, nothing survives in this writ petition. The petitioner is at liberty to challenge the said rejection order dated 26.07.2018, if he so desires. With the above observation, the writ petition stands closed. No costs.
