ORDER

Alleging that the order dated 27.02.2017 made in W.P.No.27145 of 2013 has not been complied with, the present contempt petition has been filed.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents produced a copy of the Government Letter No.40736/U.Spl/2013-3 dated 07.12.2023 and submitted that the Secretary to Government, Environment, Climate Change and Forest Department was requested to take further action to upgrade the post and pay of the petitioners on par with their juniors in Finance Unit as directed by this Court in its order dated 27.02.2017 in W.P. No.27145 of 2013, in consultation with Finance Department by incorporating the orders of this Court with proper undertaking from the individuals concerned towards recovery of the said amount.

3. Today, Dr.S.Swarna, I.A.S., Secretary to Government, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, Secretariat, Chennai - 9 and Ms.Mythili K.Rajendran, I.A.S., Secretary to Government, Human Resources Management Department, Secretariat, Chennai - 9 are present.

4. Learned Additional Advocate General, on instructions, submitted that the petitioners have to submit an undertaking to the authorities within a period of two weeks and on such receipt of the undertaking affidavit from the petitioners, further action to upgrade the post and pay of the petitioners on par with their juniors in Finance Unit, in consultation with the Finance Department will be taken by the competent authority within a period of twelve weeks thereafter.

5. Recording the statement of learned Additional Advocate General, this contempt petition is closed.
