O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction directing the respondent to renew petitioner's passport.

2. Earlier, notice ordered to the respondent. Today, when the matter taken up for hearing, Mr.N.Ramesh, learned Senior Panel Counsel appearing for respondent, on instructions, would submit that, pending Writ Petition, the application seeking for renewal of passport has been rejected by the authorities by an order dated 18.08.2020.

3. Mr.G.Pugazhenthi, learned counsel appearing for petitioner would submit that, the copy of rejection order was not communicated to the petitioner. Hence, he is not in a position to challenge the order.

4. Heard and considered rival submissions made by learned counsel appearing for both sides and perused the records.

5. Considering the fact that, the petitioner's application has been already rejected by the respondent on 18.08.2020, no further adjudication is 2/4

required in this Writ Petition. Hence, this Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to challenge the order of rejection passed by the respondent in accordance with law if so advised. The respondent is directed to communicate the order of rejection to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. No costs.
