(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.K.Murugesan, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mrs.R.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader for the third respondent and Ms.G.Hema, learned counsel for the fourth respondent.

2. A prayer was made to allow those persons who appeared for the final year degree examination to apply for the preliminary examination for direct recruitment.

3. The rules and the notification are in place. The rules are not subject matter of challenge. De hors the challenge to the rules, no

relief can be granted to the petitioner. Moreover, the examination for which the petitioner sought the relief is over long back. In light of that, the writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
