..Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent herein to pay the compensation of Rs.10,00,000/- to the petitioner for the death of her husband Mahendran during the process of cleaning the septic tank in the terms of Employment of Manual Scavengers and construction of dry Latrines (Prohibition) Act, 1993 as per Supreme Court Judgment rendered in WP (Civil) No.583/2003 and connected matters decided on 27.03.2014.

O R D E R

The efforts taken by Mr.R.Sivakumar, learned counsel for 2nd respondent in ensuring that compensation has been paid to the writ petitioner is deeply appreciated by this Court. On the advice given by the learned counsel, the 2nd respondent had paid a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- to the petitioner Mrs.M.Karthiga by cheque dated 24.01.2020.

2. This Court once again placed its deep appreciation not only to Mr.R.Sivakumar, but also to Mr.N.Inbanathan, learned Additional Government Pleader who had ensured that amicable settlement has been reached in this issue.

3. The Assistant Commissioner Mr.M.Kanagaraj, Municiplaity is also present before this Court and his presence is also appreciated by this Court.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner is permitted to withdraw the writ petition and he has also made the following endorsement to that effect:

"I may be permitted to withdraw the petition"

5. In view of the above, this writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. No costs.
