..Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondent to pass orders on the appeal petition submitted by the Petitioner dated 29.07.2018 challenging his order of disqualification passed by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Tirunelveli in his Na.Ka.No. A2/21544/2016 dated 04.05.2016 within a reasonable time and grant such other further relief as this Court may deem fit in the circumstances of the case.

O R D E R

The writ petitioner was disqualified in the process of selection for recruitment to the post of Grade-II Sub-inspector of Police.

2. The learned senior counsel appearing on behalf of the writ petitioner states that the writ petitioner was disqualified on medical grounds and even during the second medical examination, the case of the writ petitioner was not cleared.

3. Thus, the competent authority passed an order rejecting https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the candidature of the writ petitioner for recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police. However, the writ petitioner preferred an appeal to the respondent, which is contemplated under the rules. The said appeal is yet to be considered. Thus, without going into the merits of the matter, the respondent is directed to consider the appeal filed by the writ petitioner on 29.07.2018 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order. The writ petitioner is directed to enclose the copy of the appeal along with all the relevant documents along with the orders passed in the present writ petition.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
