Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent herein to provide police protection for the moving of the machineries more specifically described in the schedule to the petition from the petitioner's factory situated at 33 Gopalan Kadai Road, Kurumbapet Village, Pondicherry 605 009, in the light of the 2nd representation dated 28.08.2017 and consequently direct the workers belonging to the 1st respondent Union, their men, agents or associates or anyone acting under them in any manner from interfering with the ingress and egress of men and materials in and out of the petitioner company or demonstrating or stalling work within 200 meters of the gates of the petitioner's factory. O R D E R

The prayer sought for in the present petition is to direct 2nd respondent herein to provide police protection for the moving of the machineries more specifically described in the scheduled to the petition from the petitioner's factory int he light of the 2nd representation dated 28.08.2018 and consequently direct the workers belonging to the 1st respondent Union, their men, agents or associates or anyone acting under them in any manner from interfering with the ingress and egress of men and materials in and out of the petitioner company or demonstrating or stalling work within 200 meters of the gates of the petitioner's factory.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that the prayer sought for has become infructuous and hence nothing survives in the writ petition.
