ORDER

This petition has been filed challenging the proceedings initiated by the respondents against the petitioner for the offences under the Factories Act.

2.The petitioner in this case is the occupier of the factory. When this petition was pending, the respondent by proceedings dated 18.06.2019 has decided to withdraw the prosecution against the petitioner. The proceedings were also placed before this Court.

3.In view of the above development, no useful purpose will be served in keeping the proceedings pending against the petitioner.

4.In the result, the proceedings in S.T.C.No.55 of 2018 on the file of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Thiruvallur, is hereby quashed and accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
