THE HONOURABLE Mr. JUSTICE S.M.SUBRAMANIAM W.P.No. 26782 of 2018 and W.M.P.No.31128 of 2018 S.Jagadeesan ..petitioner Vs Member Secretary Tamilnadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Uniformed Services Old Commissioner of Police office Campus Pantheon Road Egmore, Chennai - 600 008.
..Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to grant six months time ; to the petitioner to complete the remaining events of long jump and 400 metres race and pass such further orders to meet the ends of justice Award costs.

O R D E R
The relief sought for in the present writ petition is for a direction to direct the respondent to grant six months time to the petitioner to complete the remaining events of long jump and 400 meters race.
2. The learned counsel for the writ petitioner states that the writ petitioner submitted an application to participate in the process of selection for appointment to the post of Grade - II Police Constable. The petitioner was successful in the written examinations and participated in the Physical Efficiency https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Test and other tests conducted by the competent authority. On account of the fact that he was directed to climb in the rope and the official competent asked him to remain in the top of the rope, the writ petitioner sustained fracture and because of that, he was unable to succeed in the 400 meters race.
3. Such an unfortunate incident would not provide a cause for the writ petitioner to file a writ petition and seek a direction to grant six months time, enabling him to participate in the long jump and 400 meters race. There cannot be any separate process of selection for the purpose of recruitment and such unfortunate situations cannot be a ground for re-opening of the selection already concluded. This apart, the writ petitioner has requested the authorities to grant six months time enabling him to develop practice and participate in the physical efficiency test once again. Such a relief sought for in the present writ petition is misconceived and this Court cannot grant any such relief contrary to the rules and established the principles of law.
5. Accordingly, the present writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
