PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents 1 to 3 to grant Rs.2,50,000/- ( Rupees Two Lakhs Fifty thousand only) to the petitioner temple for its renovation and conduct of daily poojas. ORDER
The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents 1 to 3 to grant Rs.2,50,000/- ( Rupees Two Lakhs Fifty thousand only) to the petitioner temple for its renovation and conduct of daily poojas.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is one of the devotee of the Pillaiyar Temple situated at Pillaiyar Koil Street, Vellaiyaur. The said temple is 100 years old and which requires to be dismantled and rebuilt with the existing foundation stones, pillars and roofing stones. The said process requires around Rs.2,50,000/-. When this being the case the petitioner came to know that the respondents are giving funds to remote/rebuild good old village temples. Hence, the petitioner sent a 2/5
representation on 17.05.2018 to the respondents 2 and 3 requesting for allotment of Rs.2,50,000/- for renovating the temple. However, there was no response till date. Hence, this petition.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.05.2018 and pass orders. 4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the Respondents submitted that they will consider the case of the petitioner and take action in the manner known to law.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.05.2018 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible. 3/5
6. With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
