ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.] Seeking a direction to the respondents to produce the detenu Sakthivel, before this Court and to set him at liberty, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the wife of the detenu.

2. It appears that after the case was registered for man missing, the detenu could not be traced. The status report filed by the respondents would reveal that the detenu after receiving money from various third parties went away expecting trouble from them.

3. Though the learned counsel for the petitioner has disputed the aforesaid statement made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor based upon the status report, we are not inclined to keep this matter pending any longer. Suffice it to direct the second respondent to continue the investigation and take all appropriate steps to secure the detenu. As and when the detenu is secured, he should be produced before the jurisdictional Magistrate.

4. In such view of the matter, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
