The Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus or a Writ of Order or Direction, directing the respondents to provide police protection to the Extraordinary General Body meeting of the petitioner Association to be held on 28.10.2018 at Olympia Grande Apartment Owner's Welfare Association, No.328, GST Road, Pallavaram, Chennai 600 043 based on the petitioner's representation dated 12.10.2018. 2.Today, Ms.A.Selvi, W.P.C 43294, attached to the S5 Pallavaram Police Station is present before this Court. 3.It is the case of the petitioner that Extraordinary General Body Meeting of Olympia Grande Apartment Owner's Welfare Association is scheduled to be conducted on 28.10.2018 around 10.00 a.m in the apartment complex at No.
328, GST Road, Pallavaram, Chennai 600 0443 and that the petitioner who is the secretary of the said association is apprehending breach of peace. Therefore, this Writ Petition has been filed after giving a representation dated 12.10.2018 to the police. 4.Heard Mr.M.Selvam, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.C.Raghavan, learned Government Advocate for the respondents. 5.In the opinion of this Court, no police protection can be granted to any individual, however, the police is directed to conduct enquiry on the complaint dated 12.10.2018 and if necessary, post a police picket at the venue of the meeting, so as to prevent any untoward situation. If any person indulges in violance, it is open to the police to file an First Information Report and take action in accordance with law. With the above direction, this petition is allowed.
No costs.
