The claim of the writ petitioner that he should be selected and appointed to the post of village Assistant in the vacant place at Thenkodipakkam, based on his representation was not considered. Thus, the writ petitioner was constrained to move the present writ petition.
2. Mere participation in the process of selection or attending an interview would not confer any right on the candidate to seek selection and appointment. All appointments are to be made only in accordance with the recruitment rules in force. Even, the relief of direction to consider the representation can be granted, if any legal right is established by the person approaching Court of law.

3. In the present case on hand, the writ petitioner has not established even a semblance of legal right so as to consider the legal right as such sought for in the present writ petition. If at all any recruitment notification is issued, it is left open to the writ petitioner to participate in the process of selection and secure employment in accordance with law.
