[Order of the Court was delivered by K.K.SASIDHARAN,J.] By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal during the time of admission.
2. The petitioner filed statutory appeal before the second respondent challenging the order passed by the 4th respondent. The appeal is stated to be pending. The petitioner has come up with this writ petition to direct the respondents 3 and 4 to maintain status quo during the currency of the appeal.
3. We have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. Mr.J.Pothiraj, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents.
4. The statutory appeal is now pending before the second respondent. The learned Special Government Pleader on instructions submitted that the hearing of the appeal is scheduled to be held on 2 November 2018 and the Revenue Divisional Officer would pass final orders within a period of four weeks.
5. We direct the second respondent to consider and dispose of the statutory appeal stated to have been filed by the petitioner on merits and as per law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Status Quo as on today shall be preserved till final orders are passed in the appeal by the second respondent.
6. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
