Prayer: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. to direct the 1st respondent to provide sufficient police protection to the petitioner and his profession and other members from the respondents 5 to 10, who are restraining the petitioner and other members from plying the taxis in international terminals of the Chennai Airport. ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and other members belonging to the Union from plying taxis in the International Terminal of the Chennai Air Port.

2. The nature of dispute that has been projected in this Criminal Original Petition relates to the permission that is granted by the International Air Port Authority of India to the taxi drivers to ply the taxis in the International Terminal of the Chennai Air Port. The police will have no role to play in all these matters. Therefore, the relief as sought for in this Criminal Original Petition cannot be granted by this Court. The plying of the taxis in the International Terminal of Chennai Air Port, is within the exclusive domain of the Air Port Authority of India and if there is any interruption that is caused, the same has to be resolved only by working it out with the concerned authorities of the Air Port Authority of India and the police will not come into the picture until their help is resorted by the Air Port Authority.
