ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a mandamus directing the Registrar, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, the first respondent herein to allow the petitioner to continue the third year B.Sc (Agri) course in the second respondent college, namely, Adhiyamaan College of Agriculture and Research, Athimugam, Shoolagiri Taluk, Krishnagiri, as per Rule 7.6.3 of Semester System Rules and Regulations for Undergraduate Programme 2012 without any break in studies/course.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that Rule 7.6.3 states that the students of last batch undergraduate students of every syllabus pattern are exempted from the rules https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
7.6.1 and 7.6.2 and they can continue their studies in their respective batch. While this is the rule position, the petitioner is eligible to continue the third year B.Sc (Agri) course, although the petitioner has not completed the first year course.

In reply, the learned standing counsel for the first respondent submitted that in view of the latest amendment to the rules and regulations, namely, Semester System Rules and Regulations 2016 for Undergraduate Programme governing the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University by bringing in Rule 8.1.1, which reads as under, "In order to register for the III year courses (V semester), the students should have completed successfully all the I year courses registered.", the petitioner's writ petition should fail, as the Rule 7.6.3 is no longer in existence.
4. This Court also, finding no substance in the writ petition, is inclined to dismiss the writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed, as this Court is unable to find any merit in the prayer. Consequently, W.M.P.No.34172 of 2018 is also dismissed. No costs.
