Prayer in W.P.No.28956 of 2018 : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 11.08.2011 and 05.10.2018 for grant of patta in respect of agricultural land measuring an extent of 67 cents comprised in Survey No.16/10, situated at Pannivakkam Village/Padiyanallur, Ponneri Taluk, Tiruvallur District, in pursuant to the order dated 28.07.2000 in proceedings No.Mu.No.977/2000 passed by the Assistant Settlement Officer, Tiruvannamalai.

Prayer in W.P.No.28959 of 2018 : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 11.08.2011, 04.08.2016 and 05.10.2018 for grant of patta in respect of agricultural land measuring an extent of Acres 2.28 cents comprised in Survey No.27/9, situated at Padiyanallur Village, Ponneri Taluk, Tiruvallur District, in pursuant to the order dated 28.07.2000 in proceedings No.Mu.No.976/2000 passed by the Assistant Settlement Officer, Tiruvannamalai.

ORDER

By consent of both parties, the writ petitions are taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The petitioners have come up with these writ petitions seeking a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioners' representations dated 11.08.2011, 04.08.2016 and 05.10.2018 for grant of patta in respect of agricultural lands, in pursuant to the order dated 28.07.2000 in proceedings *No.Mu.Nos.976, 977 & 978 of 2000 passed by the Assistant Settlement Officer, Tiruvannamalai.

3.According to the learned counsel for the petitioners, the petitioners have submitted representations dated 11.08.2011, 04.08.2016 and 05.10.2018 claiming the same relief as prayed in these writ petitions, but, the said representations are yet to be disposed of by the respondent. Hence, the petitioners are before this Court.

4.Mr.E.Balamurugan, learned Special Government Pleader taking notice for the respondent, submitted that the respondent be directed to consider the petitioners' representations and pass orders in accordance with law.

5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioners' representations dated 11.08.2011, 04.08.2016 and 05.10.2018 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, in the light of the order dated 28.07.2000 in proceedings *No.Mu.Nos.976 , 977 & 978 of 2000 passed by the

Assistant Settlement Officer, Tiruvannamalai, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioners as well as any of the interested parties, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.Accordingly, the writ petitions stand disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
