O R D E R

The petitioners are accused in Crime No.597/2017 for the offence under Sections 294(b), 352, 427 and 506(2) and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002. Earlier, the petitioners filed Crl.O.P.No.11798 of 2018 to quash the First Information Report, in which this Court passed the following order on 20.04.2018: "3.Therefore, this Court directs the Inspector of Police, Arcot Town Police Station to conduct a thorough enquiry in Crime No.597 of 2017 based on the materials produced by the accused that they were not in the place of occurrence and that they were in their respective offices, at the relevant point of time. If, during enquiry it is found that the allegations against the petitioners are false, it is needless to state further action against the petitioners shall be dropped.

4.The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of, accordingly. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed."

2.It is the grievance of the petitioners that despite the order, there has not been any progress in the investigation.

3.In such circumstances, this Court directs the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.597 of 2017, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and either file a charge sheet or a closure report as the case may be, under due intimation to the de facto complainant provided there is no any legal impediment.
