This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to award interest for the compensation paid to the petitioner under Section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Lands for Industrial Purpose Act, 1997.
2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner's lands were acquired and award was passed and compensation was also paid. While passing the award, the Acquisition Officer has not calculated the interest as per Section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Lands for Industrial Purpose Act, 1997. Hence, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents, but the representation has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances, without going into the merits of the case, the fifth respondent, Special Tahsildhar(L.A), is directed to consider the petitioner's representation and pass suitable orders on merits in accordance with law within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
