This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking directions to respondents 1 to 3 to promote the petitioner by granting deemed promotion as Superintendent Engineer with all
attendant benefits, by considering the representations of the petitioner, dated 01.09.2018 and 23.09.2018.
2. Mr. A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for respondents 1 and 4 and Mr. Ramesh, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for respondents 2 and 3. With the consent of the learned counsels appearing for both sides, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. Heard both sides.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that, though larger prayer is sought for, it would suffice that if the respondents are directed to consider the representations submitted by the petitioner in accordance with law.
5. The learned Special Government Pleader and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the representations dated 01.09.2018 and 23.09.2018 preferred by the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.
6. In view of the said submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for both sides, without dwelling into the merits or otherwise of the matter, the respondents are directed to consider the representations of the petitioner, dated 01.09.2018 and 23.09.2018 and to pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
