O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to include the name of the petitioner for appointment of Assistant Engineer/Electrical, by internal Selection, on the basis of the suitability. The second respondent, vide letter No.058434/1061/G.55/G.551/2017-1 dated 12.07.2017, invited the proposal from qualified persons to fill up the post of 272 vacant post of Assistant Engineer / Electrical, by internal selection in the ratio of 1:1. 2.Heard the learned counsel on both sides.

3.According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the petitioner has made a representation dated 26.07.2018 for appointing him to the post of Assistant Engineer (EL), through internal selection, before the second respondent, but, the same has yet to be disposed of by the second respondent. Challenging the same, the petitioner has come before this Court.

4.The learned standing counsel for the respondents stated that the Chief Engineer/Distribution, Vellore Region, Vellore, has addressed a letter dated 11.10.2018 to the Chief Engineer/Personnel, TANGEDCO, Chennai, recommending the petitioner for the post of Assistant Engineer through internal selection.

5.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that though a larger relief is sought for, it would be suffice if the representation submitted by the petitioner is considered by the respondents.

6.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.07.2018 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
