O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the F.I.R. No.10 of 2017, pending on the file of the 1st respondent Police.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that during the pendency of complaint, the parties have amicably settled the dispute among themselves. The learned counsel brought to the notice of this Court, the letter of the District Welfare Officer, Thiruvallur dated 20.02.2018, wherein the District Welfare Officer has stated that both the parties have compromised the dispute among themselves and they both want to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

live together. Subsequently, there was a memorandum of understanding dated 02.11.2018, entered into between the parties, wherein, the second respondent has specifically agreed for the petitioners filing a petition to quash the F.I.R. in Crime No.10 of 2017.

3.The first respondent viz., Ms.K.Shoba Rani, Inspector of Police, W29, All Women Police Station, Avadi, was also present before this court and on instructions given by her, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the parties had settled the matter among themselves.

4.This Court is of the considered view that no useful purpose will be served by keeping the F.I.R. pending and it will be in the interest of both the parties to quash the F.I.R. 5.In the result, the F.I.R. in Crime No.10 of 2017 on the file of the Inspector of Police, W29, All Women Police Station, Avadi, Chennai, is hereby quashed.
