Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to issue legalheir certificate to the petitioner as per report given by the Revenue Inspector and Village Administrative Officer, Vannur dated 13.07.2016. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent to issue legalheir certificate to the petitioner as per report given by the Revenue Inspector and Village Administrative Officer, Vannur dated 13.07.2016.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he made a representation to the respondent on 27.06.2016, seeking for issuance of the legal heir certificate. After due enquiry, the Village Administrative Officer and the Revenue Inspector of Vannur, Villupuram District had re-commended that certificate to be issued in favour of the petitioner and the Revenue Inspector of Vannur, Villupuram District vide proceedings dated 13.07.2016, has forwarded his recommendation to the Tahsildar. But, no action has been taken on the same till date. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with this Writ petition seeking for https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the aforesaid relief.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, as well as learned Government Advocate who takes notice on behalf of the respondent.

5. The learned Government Advocate who takes notice on behalf of the respondent would submit that the respondent shall issue the legal heir certificate to the petitioner, based on the report given by the Revenue Inspector dated 13.07.2016, within a stipulated period.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also having regard to the submissions made, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to issue the legalheir certificate to the petitioner, as per the recommendation given by the Revenue Inspector, dated 13.07.2016, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. However, this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.
