The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to renew the F.L.-2 License No.07/2013-14, in respect of the petitioner for the year 2018-19 at the new address at Plot No.67, 68, 69, Golden Sea View, Part-3, VGP 2nd Main Road, VGP Layout, Palavakkam, Chennai - 600 041.

2. Heard both sides.

3. It is stated by the petitioner that in pursuant to the order passed by the Honourable Supreme Court for closure of shops during certain period, the petitioner was not in a position to run the Shop and consequently, not in a position to make an application for renewal within time. Therefore, it is contended that the respondents have to consider the said aspect and grant renewal of the petitioner's F.L.-2 License.

4. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view as the representation given by the petitioner for renewing the license dated 16.10.2017 followed by the reminders dated 14.5.2018 and 25.06.2018 are pending with the respondents. Therefore, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner for renewal of license and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
