The petitioner joined as a Constable in Tamil Nadu Special Police Youth Brigade on 12.2.2014. He came to be implicated in a criminal case in C.C.No.2718 of 2017, which ended in acquittal. Due to the pendency of the criminal case, his application to the post of Constable in Tamil Nadu Special Police Force has been returned. The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 15.10.2018 seeking reinstatement and appointment to the post of constable, which is pending consideration by the respondents. 2. Ms.Narmada Sampath, learned Additional Advocate General accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and submits that the show cause notice against the petitioner dated 25.06.2015 issued by the third respondent is pending.
3 In view of the limited relief sought for, this Court is of the view that it is not necessary to dwell into the merits of the issue, but it would be suffice to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.10.2018 and pass orders on the same within a particular time frame.
4. In the above circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.10.2018 and pass orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
