Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent herein to grant Old Age Pension (OAP) to the petitioner by considering her application dated 12.09.2013 and further representations dated 15.02.2018 and 05.07.2018.

The writ petition is filed for a direction to the first respondent herein to grant Old Age Pension (OAP) to the petitioner by considering her application dated 12.09.2013 and further representations dated 15.02.2018 and 05.07.2018.
2. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner has submitted representations dated 15.02.2018 and
05.07.2018 to the first and second respondents to grant Old Age Pension, but, the same is yet to be disposed of by the first and second respondents. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Heard, the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.
4. Though the Government has got schemes for old age pension for the senior citizens, widows, differently-abled persons and destitute widow, it is unfortunate that before the deserving people would get it, the ordeal, which they undergo is unimaginable, rendering various welfare schemes unworkable. The present case is a standing example for the same.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the representations, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 15.02.2018 and 05.07.2018 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioner and the persons interested in this regard and also affording them an opportunity of personal hearing, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
