Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to pass orders in the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2017 which has been numbered as proceedings in Na.Ka.No.28086/2017/J2 dated 02.03.2018 on the file of the respondent within a time frame as stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

O R D E R

The prayer in the writ petition is seeking a direction to the respondent to pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2017.

2. As per the direction of the UDR Scheme, there is a communication to the petitioner to approach the District Revenue Officer for granting of patta in his favour, based on which, the District Revenue Officer had issued notice for a personal enquiry on 23.11.2017. The petitioner also had appeared before the District Revenue Officer and submitted the documents in support of his case. Thereafter, the District Revenue Officer had sent a memo on 02.03.2018 to the Tahsildar, Denkanikottai Taluk to submit a report. Since there was no response, the petitioner has given another representation on 27.08.2018. Now https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the petitioner seeks disposal of the said representation, which was forwarded to the Tahsildar.

3. Heard Mr.R.Jayaprakash, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.E.Balamurugan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the representation, directs the Tahsildar, Denkanikottai, to comply with the direction of the respondent in the letter dated 02.03.2018 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and thereafter, based on the report of the Tahsildar, the respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, as well as any of the interested parties, within a period of eight weeks thereafter.

5. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
