ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to include the name of the petitioner in the tentative provisional selection list in the MBC Quota direct recruitment of special teachers for the year 2012-2016 for the drawing teacher.
2. No representation for the petitioner. Heard Mr.C.Kathirvel, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.
3. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent submitted that the recruitment process has been completed and the petitioner has not been selected.
4. On perusal of the affidavit filed by the petitioner, it is seen that the petitioner has secured 57 marks in the written examination conducted by the respondent Recruitment Board. As the petitioner has employment seniority of 28 years, he deserves five marks to be awarded to his employment seniority and in such case, his total marks would come to Page No.2 of 6
62. He has claimed that the cut off marks for the last selected MBC candidate under MBC quota is 57 and hence, the petitioner would have very well be within the zone of consideration for appointment as he has secured more marks than the last candidate who has got only 57 marks in total.
5. Even though the respondent has stated that they have completed the selection process, no explanation has been given as to why the petitioner's candidature has not been considered for selection. As there is no representation for the petitioner and the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking only the Writ of Mandamus, I feel it is appropriate to direct the respondent to furnish the information to the petitioner as to why he has not been selected or any other information as to the concern raised by the petitioner in this Writ Petition.
6. In the result, this Writ Petition is disposed and the respondent is directed to furnish the information to the petitioner as to why he has not been selected or any other information as to the concern raised by the Page No.3 of 6
