Respondent Petition under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 praying to punish the respondent for wilful disobedience of the order of this Court dated 08.03.2018 made in W.M.P.No.4141 of 2018 in W.P.No.18007 of 2016. For Petitioner ::

ORDER
When the contempt petition was taken up, Dr.V.Kannan, the petitioner appearing in person submitted that his merit and performance shown in the interview for selecting him to the post of Assistant Professor have not been properly considered.
2. In reply, Mr.G.Rajagopalan, learned Additional Solicitor General for the respondent, producing the details of the marks secured by the petitioner along with other candidates, submitted that even the following candidates, namely, Palas Baran Pati, who secured 40 marks, Baskaran.T, who secured 40 marks, Suresh Sanda, who secured 38 marks, Krishna Gavvala, who secured 40 marks, Venkatesh.V, who secured 40 marks, Palanisamy Nallasamy, who secured 40 marks, Bootharaju.M.S., who secured 35 marks, Mukul Pradhan, who secured 25 marks, Avijit Jana, who secured 40 marks, S.Ganeshbabu, who secured 33 marks, Kamla Rawat, who secured 25 marks, Mayakrishnan Gopiraman, who secured 22 marks and Chellaiah Arunkumar, who secured 30 marks, were not considered for appointment.
While so, it is very difficult to consider the candidature of the petitioner, as he has secured only 22 marks, which is lesser than the marks secured by the above candidates. Again Mr.Rajagopalan submitted that the statement made by the petitioner that all the nine vacancies were filled up, is also not correct, because four more vacancies in the post of Assistant Professor are still existing.
3. Recording the submission made by the learned Additional Solicitor General for the respondent, as no contempt is made out, this contempt petition stands closed.
However, the petitioner is at liberty to canvass his grievance in the pending writ petition.
