Respondents For Petitioner :
Mr.L.Chandrakumar For Respondent :
Mr.D.Ravichandran - for R1 and R2 Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioners for appointment any one of the eligible vacant post under the control of the third respondent on the basis of the acquisition of the lands by the second respondent for the establishment of the fourth respondent institute.
O R D E R
The petitioners' lands were acquired by the Government for the purpose of construction of cricket stadium and swimming pool and later utilised the same towards establishment of Government Medical college (fourth respondent college) by modifying the scheme. It is the claim of the petitioners that employment was offered to the family members of the persons, whose lands were acquired and accordingly the petitioners were called for interview in the year 2011 and 2016. Admittedly, the petitioners have even attended the certificate verification, but till date they are not appointed. Hence, the petitioners submitted a representation on 10.10.2018. As the same has not been considered, the petitioners have filed the present writ petition.
2. Mr.D.Ravichandran takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. In view of the limited relief sought for, this Court is of the view that it is not necessary to dwell into the merits of the issue, but it would be suffice to direct the respondents to consider the representation and pass orders on merits and in accordance within law, within a limited time frame.
4. In the above circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 10.10.2018 and pass orders on merits and in accordance within law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
