PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to call for the petitioner for the personal interview for appointment to the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) and consider the candidature for appointment to the said post in terms of Clause 12 of the Advertisement for Direct Recruitment dated 04.02.2017.

ORDER

The grievance of the petitioner is that the respondent has not followed the procedure contemplated under Clause 12 of the notification dated 04.02.2017 for filling up the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical) through direct recruitment.

2. As per the procedure in the notification, 65% of marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying Board/University Examination and 25% of marks in the written examination would be added as weightage to the candidate, apart from 10% weightage to the personal interview.

3. In the counter affidavit filed by the respondent, it is stated that the weightage of marks for Board/University Examination and written examination, as well as the personal interview, have been granted to the petitioner, by which, he had secured 71.350. The cut off mark for General Turn (Non-priority categories) is 75.365; for General Turn Women (Nonpriority categories), the cut off mark is 73.825; for Backward Class (Nonpriority categories), the cut off mark is 72.790; and for Backward Class Women (Non-priority categories), the cut off mark is 71.735. 2/4

4. Admittedly, the petitioner herein had scored lesser than the cut-off marks and as such, she cannot now question the selection process. Hence, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
