ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.SATHYANARAYANAN, J) This Habeas Corpus Petition was disposed of, vide order dated 22.03.2019 and this Court, while disposing the petition, has directed the Superintendent of

Police, Cuddalore District to file a status report as to the progress shown during investigating the case in Crime No.245 of 2018, on the file of Kurinjipadi Police Station, Cuddalore District.

2. Accordingly, Mr.P.Saravanan, I.P.S., Superintendent of Police, Cuddalore District has filed a status report dated 22.04.2019 and it is relevant to extract paragraph No.8 of the said report :

"8. In this regard, the concerned Inspector of Police/1st respondent, Kurinjipadi Police Station has enquired the detenue Shanmathi on 13.04.2019 and other witnesses namely Bharathi @ Bharathidasan/2nd respondent and Thenmozhi, the erstwhile wife of the second respondent. In the statement of detenue, she stated all the details about the elopement by both detenue and the second respondent and her living of cohabitation with him, which resulted in the birth of a female child for the detenue. She further stated that both of them were living together without any wedlock. The detenue also stated that she was not facing any threat or other pressure from any quarters including her parents. Hence, detenue is in the safer atmosphere and in the light of her own statement of well being, which does not require for any sort of police protection and hence no such protective measures have been taken in this matter as such. In the event of obtaining any adverse complaints or reports from anybody including the detenue, necessary action will be taken immediately by police."

3. In the light of the above, no further orders are necessary in this Habeas Corpus Petition.
