O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the proceedings in Crime No.363 of 2016, pending on the file of the first respondent police.

2. An FIR has been registered against the petitioner for an offene under sections 147, 148, 448, 294(b), 120(B), 385, 437, 109, 506(ii) of IPC and 4 of Tamil Nadu Public Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act, 1992.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the case as projected in the FIR is completely different from the reason for which these petitioners were subsequently arrested by the respondent police. The learned counsel would further submit that the entire complaint is false and the petitioners are arrested and harassed by keeping the FIR pending from the year 2016 onwards.

4. This Court is not inclined to interfere with the FIR, at this stage. The FIR is pending from the year 2016 onwards. Therefore, there shall be a direction to the first respondent police to complete the investigation and to file a final report or closure report, as the case may be, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction. Consequently, Connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
