Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, Special Government Pleader Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 04.04.2017 seeking subsequent revision of seniority in the rank of DSP and above alone with all service benefits within a stipulated time.

The petitioner, who is a retired Superintendent of Police, had submitted a representation to the respondents on 04.04.2017, requesting, a) to restore original seniority, based on the Police Training College marks.
b) to favour with the due promotions retrospectively and include his name in the panel of Deputy Superintedent of Police for promotion as Additional Superintendent of Police for the year 2007-08.
c) to grant all the service benefits, by fixing the original seniority as Sl.No.8 from Sub Inspector to Inspector of Police, Inspector to D.S.P. and D.S.P. to Additional S.P., promotions and consequent monetary benefits.

2. As the above representation has not been considered, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition, seeking direction to the respondents to pass orders on the petitioner's representation.

Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents and on instructions, would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 04.04.2017 would be considered in proper perspective and appropriate orders would be passed by the respondents, as per the time limit fixed by this Court.
4. Accordingly, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.04.2017, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass orders thereon, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of in the above terms.
