PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Cr.P.C., to direct the respondent police to file either closure report or final report pending investigation in Crime No.697/2010 on the file of the respondent police in pursuant to the order passed by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.11793 of 2018 dated 18.06.2018.

This petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent police to file either closure report or final report, pending investigation in Crime No. 697/2010 on the file of the respondent police in pursuant to the order passed by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.11793 of 2018 dated 18.06.2018. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions would submit that the respondent police has completed the investigation and filed a closure report as "Further Action Dropped", before the XVII Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Saidapet, Chennai. Public Prosecutor would further submit that now the jurisdiction has been changed to the VI Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore, Chennai. Therefore, a direction can be given to the XVII Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Saidapet, Chennai to transfer the closure report already filed by the respondent police to the the VI Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore, Chennai. This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the XVII Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Saidapet to immediately transfer the entire case records and the closure report in Crime No.56 of 2010 to the file of the VI Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore. This exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
