O R D E R

The prayer sought in this contempt petition is to initiate the contempt proceedings against the respondents and punish them for not obeying the order of this Court dated 27.02.2017 made in W.P.No.27647 of 2013.

2. The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents submitted that the order passed by this Court has been complied with Government Letter No.40736/U.Spl/2013-1 dated 07.12.2023 and also produced a copy of the said proceedings, which is taken on file and recorded. For better appreciation, the relevant paragraph is extracted hereunder: "5. Accordingly as the concerned individuals Tvl.A.Soundarraj, S.Gowri and M.Thiruneelakandan have retired from service as Section Officer in your department, you are requested to take necessary further action in this regard to upgrade the post and pay of the above individuals, on par with their juniors in Finance Unit, as ordered by the Hon'ble High Page No.2 of 4

Court of Madras in W.P.No.27145/2013 and 27647/2013 dated 27.02.2017, in consultation with Finance department by incorporating the orders of the High Court of Madras in the reference sixth cited, as at para.4 above with proper undertaking from the individual concerned, towards recovery of the said amount.

6.The action taken in this regard may be intimated to this department for information."
